The seventh annual artisan chocolate fair (fiera del cioccolato artigianale) started on this Friday the 4th in Piazza Santa Croce, and you can bet that I was there opening day, ready to be impressed and very tempted…
A small sample of the spread:
Everything is traditional handmade chocolate – no hershey’s, cadbury or any other factory chocolate manufacturers allowed – so these vendors are chocolate artists that have some amazingly creative products.
Mice, shoes, roses, skeletons, scissors, coffee pots, cheese, salami – it would probably be easier to name something that they haven’t sculpted out of chocolate.
Of course there are plenty of chocolate fountains to be found.
To find out more, the official site is here (in Italian), and includes a list of all the participating vendors that have come from all around Italy.
It doesn’t end until Sunday February 13th. This could be a problem. So far I’ve been two out of two days, and I’m afraid that it might end up being ten for ten, and that I’ll end up with ten pounds more to love…
