Free Museum Entrance Florence September 28 European Heritage

Free Musuem Entrance for European Cultural Heritage Day

If you’re in Florence this weekend, plan your museum visits for Saturday! On Saturday September 28th all national museums will be free of charge for the “Giornate Europee del Patrimonio” – European Heritage Days. If you’ve been meaning to see a particular museum, this is the perfect excuse!

At the Galleria Palatina, there will also be 10-15 minute explanations of some of the gallery’s most important pieces throughout the day. The Polo Museale website has more information about the event (in Italian) including the scheduled times for these explanations.

The Modern Art Gallery in Palazzo Pitti will have a special exhibition of about 30 works that have been added to the collection in the past 4 years, either by donation or aquisition. From 8:30am to 1:30pm you can take advantage of free entrance to this special opening of the exhibition, two days before the official inauguration
