Pastiglie Leone – Sweet(s) Italia

Pastiglie Leone is a brand of Italian candies and chocolates that has been around since 1857 – more than 150 years. That’s longer than Italy has been a unified country!

On March 17th Italians will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of Italian Unification, and to commemorate the event, Leone has released special limited edition tin boxes of some of their most popular candies. The collection is called Sweet(s) Italia and was designed by Italian artist Renato Sorrentino. Take a look at the lovely pin-up style..

This one is for the “At Home” fruit sweets, showing off a lovely lady taking a ride on my favorite espresso machine – the moka express!

This box is for the “At Work” fruit jellies, for when you need to take a break from your giant typewriter, of course.

This one is my favorite! I looove vespas, so I’ll definitely be getting these “Free Time” chocolate nougatine milk sweets (I think that might be a slightly strange translation, hehe)

I have a day off today, and my mission is to track down these beautiful ladies and give them a new home in my purse. Candy and vintage-style pin-up collectables? A match made in heaven!

You really do need to collect all of these — they’re fantastic. I love that retro style. And I can only imagine how good those sweets are if they’ve been around that long!
