On the last Sunday of May, we took advantage of the Cantine Aperte event (I admit that I had been looking forward to it all month) and took a quick and beautiful motorcycle ride up to the Castello di Verrazzano Winery in Greve.
Tour of the Castello di Verrazzano Winery:
The old tower and wine storehouse
The room where Vin Santo is made, and barrels full of Chianti
Relaxing under vines and enjoying the garden afer wine tasting
The best part was definitely the views of the Chianti hills!
Touring the cellars and wine tasting was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Of course we had take a bottle of wine home as a souvenir. I can’t wait for next year’s Cantine Aperte event to see another winery!
